Developmental Editing and Sensitivity Reading with Sologne Schumacher

Hi, I'm Sologne Schumacher, an author, screenwriter, playwright and educator with over a decade of experience teaching at the University level and helping writers and performers develop their voices. Over the past few years, I have had experience in both traditional and independent publishing; I have also worked as an editor, CRLA certified writing tutor, producer and director, and now I'm thrilled to use my skills to help my fellow authors!
Developmental Editing
I will do a close reading of an early version of your manuscript and provide you with both in-line commentary and 1-2 pages of detailed feedback on plot structure and development, character voice and development, pacing, plot holes, inconsistencies and other big-picture elements. This is a crucial part of the editing process, and I will give you specific and actionable items to improve during your editing process to get your manuscript ready for publication in your genre.
Sensitivity Reading
I will do a close reading of the completed manuscript and provide feedback on the execution and handling of sensitive topics. I will also suggest relevant content warnings/trigger warnings if requested.

Being neurodivergent (ADHD)
Dealing with Mental Illness (Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, OCD)

Developmental Editing: $0.01/word (30,000 words minimum)
Sensitivity Reading: $180 per manuscript
All services require a 50% deposit and the remaining 50% is to be paid before service is turned over. If you choose to pay 100% upfront, this will be noted in the contract.
All sales final.
